POSITION SUMMARY:   Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for the recruitment and employment process, administration of Credit Union training programs, employee relations and employee activities.   

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  •

Responsible for orientation and onboarding of new hires; responsible to track employee progress through probationary / orientation period and report evaluation to the V.P. of Human Resources. •

Responsible to develop, maintain and conduct training programs using digital and electronic formats and incorporating self-paced learning methodology. •

Research and select appropriate training methods, procedures, and materials to determine the most effective manner in which to conduct programs.   •

Assess the Credit Union’s training needs, confer with managers and other appropriate sources to develop or improve programs.    

Responsible for employee time off requests (PTO), related recordkeeping and administration of the Attendance Policy.  •

Responsible for recruitment procedures; including placement of advertisements, evaluation of applicants / bidders, resumes, interviewing of candidates and logging information for Affirmative Action purposes.  •

Establish, maintain and update records, databases, spreadsheets and other background material for proper personnel record and reports according to Credit Union policy and Federal/State guidelines •

Responsible for the EEO recordkeeping. •

Responsible for developing and maintaining job descriptions for the Credit Union. •

Responsible for Exit Interviews for terminating employees. •

Conduct workstation ergonomic studies.  •

Collect data on salaries, benefits and other key issues and complete requested surveys.  •

Assist in the maintenance of the Human Resource Policy / Procedure Book, as well as the Employee Handbooks. 

Coordinate Wellness Program and act as liaison on related topics.   •

Responsible for the administration of the Tuition Assistance Program. •

Responsible for Human Resources related activities and functions. •

Responsible to maintain the OSHA 100 log and record all accidents of employees. •

Responsible for the administration of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). •

Serve as the back up to the Payroll & Benefits Administrator.  •  

Responsible for maintaining an HR presence at all branches.  •

Employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of all Credit Union, member, employee and proprietary information both during and after their employment with the Credit Union.  If an employee has a question about the confidentiality of a particular matter, they should consult their supervisor.  Any violation of this rule shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.   •

Other duties as assigned.  


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: •

Understanding of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Cornerstone Community FCU and Local 153, OPEIU.  As well as understanding of all Human Resource laws, policies, and procedures. •

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.   •

Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. •

Excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of individuals and vendors. •

Ability to independently research, organize, schedule appointments, problem solve and make judgments relating to assigned projects and responsibilities. •

Punctual, flexible, and professional in appearance. •

Remain current on Human Resource and Credit Union policies, procedures, services, and products. •

Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive HR and credit union issues.   

QUALIFICATIONS:  •

Bachelor’s degree, preferably with SHRM certification, with eight to ten years of human resource experience.      •

Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License.    •

Subject to regular motor vehicle record checks. Must maintain a satisfactory driving record, without DWI or DUI violations, or repeated speeding violations.  Must immediately inform management of any citation issued for any moving traffic violation.  •
